BoB

Band of Brothers is my favorite war movie. The series tells the journey of the Easy Company throughout WW II. Anyone who hasn't watch the movie ought to watch it. You could feel, in the end of the series, how the men from the E company were transformed from their early days in Currahee, a group of inexperienced soldiers, into a group of veterans.

The series also indirectly tells me that true leadership is innate. Sure, you can learn leadership, assuming you don't have one before, but essentially, true leaders are born, not made.

Richard Winters from the E company, as shown in the movie, didn't have to go to seminars to learn leadership. Perhaps, most, if not all of his actions, displayed leadership. Leaders lead in the frontline, not barking orders in the back. Leaders share pains and gains with their followers. True leaders have followers that are, perhaps, willingly journey through hell and back.

It is unfortunate that nowadays, in my country, those who called themselves leaders are nothing but a bunch of goons. Leaders don't need self-acknowledgement. People will willingly respect them without being asked to. With lack of leaders like now, I wonder if my country really has a future...

See ya later!
